Panos Lazaratos was born in Athens in 1965. He holds a doctorate from the University of Tübingen (1989) with a thesis entitled "Rechtliche Auswirkungen der Verwaltungsautomation auf das Verwaltungsverfahren" (Legal effects of administrative automation on administrative procedure) ("summa cum laude"). Currently, he is Professor of Administrative Law at the Law School of the University of Athens, co-founder of the law firm "Mavridis-Marinos - Lazaratos and Partners" since 1989 and founding member of the law firm "Lazaratos and Partners" (2011). He has published more than 15 monographs after his doctoral thesis and more than 300 independent scientific studies, particularly in the fields of general administrative law, administrative procedural law, tax law, aviation law, urban planning and environmental law, information technology law, competition law, education law, banking supervision law and public procurement law. He has handled a large number of legal cases over two decades in all of the above areas.
